JEDI is an Emmy Award-winning Los Angeles-based DJ, admired for his eclectic style of mixing, song-selection, and turntablism.

Over the past decade, he’s toured the globe as the resident music maestro for Russell Simmons’ Tony Award-winning DEF POETRY JAM, and later, with Grammy Award-winning hip hop pioneers, DIGABLE PLANETS. As a result of touring with the DP’s, he’s had the privilege of headlining with them at virtually every major music festival in the world, including (but not limited to) COACHELLA, LOLLAPOLOOZA, BUMBERSHOOT in Seattle, and the SONAR FESTIVAL in Barcelona, Spain. Along the way, he’s had the priviledge of sharing stages with the likes of superstars such as The Breakestra, Crown City Rockers, DJ Shadow, King Britt, Lyrics Born, The Procussions, Z-Trip, Weezer, Erykah Badu, Madonna, and countless others.  Prior to touring with Digable Planets, Jedi was the in-house selector for the Tony Award-winning RUSSELL SIMMONS’ DEF POETRY JAM ON TOUR, which allowed him to perform in such marquee venues as the World Famous APOLLO THEATRE in Harlem, N.Y. and THE SYDNEY FESTIVAL in Australia. Jedi holds down a myriad number of residencies and nights in the Los Angeles area. On any given night of the week, Jedi can be seen spinning high-energy, multiple-genre-spanning sets with the Rootdown Soundsystem, the Modern Audio Collective, and many more of the city’s unsung DJ elites. He also contributes to Downbeat 720, a bi-weekly Santa Monica-based performance workshop for high school students. His 70 minute love letter to his favorite hip hop collective the Digable Planets, entitled “Blowout Breaks”, in addition to his 2CD tribute to His Royal Purple Badness, are currently available at AMOEBA RECORDS, TURNTABLE LAB LOS ANGELES, STREET SOUNDS, and anywhere quality cds and mixtapes are sold.
