Eclectic Sessions

An exercise in hip hop, acid jazz, soul and rare groove; this 2004 release was one of the first mixes that I felt was respectable enough to actually package and sell. Clocking in at a little over an hour long, I think it’s a pretty accurate representation of where my skills were at the time: Clean(ish) blends, occasional (adequate) scratching, and juggles against a backdrop of bangers from some of my favorite artists, ranging from DJ Shadow & Portishead to Dilla, D’Angelo, Nuyorican Soul and everything in between.

This thing’s been out of print for years now, so I’m posting it up here for your listening pleasure.

Enjoy.

A Tribute To His Royal Purple Badness

This is a 20 minute snippit from a super limited edition 2 cd mix I recently did, consisting of songs from “The Artist” and friends he worked with over the years. Physical copies of the full mix are currently available exclusively at Turntable Lab LA, Street Sounds (both in Los Angeles), Amoeba SF, Turntable Lab NY, and shows I’m performing at, while supplies last. In the meantime, enjoy this little taste…

 Covers

RE-UPPED: I’m combing through my archives all week, and posting up the old mixes that I think still hold up or constitute a worthwhile listen.

This here is a mix of cover tunes I initially threw together back in about 2006 as a gift/free download for family, friends, fans, and mailing list subscribers for the holiday season.

Nothing too flashy here: Just a little over an hour of cover tunes from various artists & genres compiled, mixed, and juggled by yours truly. 2 takes. All live. All vinyl. No Serato. No post production. Any quirky echo effects you hear were done on the spot using my trusty Pioneer 909 DJ mixer. Hope you dig it.

Enjoy!
